Tamoya Taylor

 

Miss Tamoya lives in Salem, NJ and studied dance here at Stage Lights for 17years. After her high school graduation, she attended the University of Arts in Philadelphia. She graduated in 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in modern dance. She has studied on dance greats Kim Bears-Bailey(Former principal dancer of Philadanco), Zane Booker, Christine Cox(Creater of BalletX), and Curt Haworth just to name a few.  All throughout high school, under the direction of Christiana Pierangeli, she was very active in her school dance ensemble, serving as co-captain. She has also performed in the Garden State Dance festival under the direction of Suzy Zuker and Rochelle Haynes. Since Miss Tamoya was 8, she has been competing individually in dance competitions and in groups, where she has earned numerous awards and received platinums almost every time. She has garnered "Most Entertaining" and won "Title" at Ticket to Broadway twice. Tamoya has also traveled with our competition team across the country to perform at various venues in Las Vegas, New York and Virginia Beach. She has also performed on-board the Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Lines. Here at Stage Lights, Tamoya has received much praise for her roles as "Zurg" in Toy Story, "Scarecrow" in the Wizard of Oz, "Russian" in The Nutcracker, and "Mike Teavee" in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and "Ariel" in The Little Mermaid. She has choreographed for music videos and plans on continuing for other artists. Tamoya desires to continue to pursue a career in the dance field as a teacher and choreographer. Stage Lights is her second home and the students here are her family. She loves each student and is
so happy to be apart of their growth and development.
